Applying for a grant

To take part in the Money for Life Challenge, first you need to apply for one of 300 £500 grants - first we'll send you £200 to spend on bringing your project to life, then once you've submitted your project summary at the end of the Challenge we'll send a further £300 to cover the costs incurred by your organisation.

Apply by 22 November 2013 and you'll find out if you've been successful on 29 November 2013.

Before you apply, you need to:

  • Get a team together
Teams can be made up of between three and ten 16 to 24 year old learners from your organisation
  • Find a project sponsor
A project sponsor can be any adult employed to work with young people at your learning organisation
  • Come up with an idea
Your idea can address any area of money management - have a read of some suggested topics here

And now you're ready to apply! Before you start your application online, you can download (in English or Welsh) and print out a copy of the blank application form which you can treat like a checklist and make notes on with your team.

Also, make sure you refer to the guide when you're making the application - it includes tips and examples of really great answers based on one of last year's successful teams.
